About Us

Our Mission

PHOAA seeks to gather information about the indigenous people of College Park, Georgia, who lived in one square mile of the city.  PHOAA aims to restore the Price Barbershop and the adjacent house to serve as the PHOAA Museum, which tells the story of the life and times of its original people.

Vision Statement

The PHOAA Museum will be the official repository of historic sources for education and scholarship that documents the culture of the people in the "One Square Mile" of College Park, Georgia.

PHOAA endeavors to honor the rich history of the original residents of the One Square Mile by installing historical markers where key sites existed for businesses, churches, and schools.  We aim to preserve, restore, and maintain these historical places.
