Dr. Otis McCree was born on December 16, 1914, in College Park, Georgia. At a very young age, he was determined to become a doctor. He attended Morehouse College and became a member  the  Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Rufus Lee Bussey was the owner and proprietor of the Bussey's Grocery store.  His foresight and entrepreneurial acumen provided the community residents in the One Square Mile with fresh produce and staples for sustenance.  No "food desert" existed in College Park!
